Nvidia's most recent family of graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 20 series, is almost two years old, and though the company refreshed the lineup with the RTX Super cards last year, it's about time we get a proper upgrade. Today, the GPU maker began teasing some sort of event on Twitter, using the hashtag #UltimateCountdown.

Though the company's tweets have been far from clear, its new header image Для просмотра ссылки Войди или Зарегистрируйся reads "21 days. 21 years.", which is in reference to the announcement of GeForce 256. This graphics card was first announced on August 31, 1999, meaning it will turn 21 years old in exactly 21 days. Nvidia refers to it as the world's first GPU, and it was the first product to use the GeForce name, so the celebration makes sense.
