Intel has released a new version of its graphics drivers for Windows 10, this time bringing the version number up to 27.20.100.8587. This release includes a few gaming improvements in the form of support for four new titles. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockdown, Wasteland 3, Crusader Kings III, and Surgeon Simulator 2 should all now be playable on PCs with Intel Iris Plus Graphics or higher.

For developers, Intel has added support for VK_EXT_pipeline_creation_cache_control, an extension for Vulkan. Here's what it does, according to Intel:
This Khronos* extension adds flags to Vk*PipelineCreateInfo and VkPipelineCacheCreateInfo structures with the goal of providing information about potentially expensive hazards within the client driver during pipeline creation to the application before carrying them out rather than after.
That's all there is to this release as far as completely new additions go, but Intel has also fixed some issues with the driver, as with every release. The company actually fixed a number of crashes and hangs in a few games, so the experience should be significantly better in those titles now. Here's the full list:
  • Intermittent crash or hang seen in Red Dead Redemption 2* (Vulkan), Horizon Zero Dawn* (DX12), Cities Skylines, F1 2020* (DX12), FIFA20* (when switching between windowed and full screen) on 10th Generation Intel Core processors with Intel Iris Plus graphics.
  • Intermittent crash or hang seen in Rocket League when switching the display from duplicate to extended mode and vice versa on 10th Generation Intel Core processors.
  • Minor graphics anomalies may be observed in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2* (DX12), Rise of the Tomb Raider*(DX12).
  • Corruption observed in Microsoft Word / Excel when resizing and toggling between windowed or Fullscreen mode on 10th Generation Intel Core processors with Intel Iris Plus graphics.
Of course, there are still a couple of known issues, but the list is fairly short this time around. There are still some crashes you might run into in certain games:
  • Intermittent crash or hang may be seen in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare* (DX12), Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint* (DX11) on 10th Generation Intel Core processors with Intel Iris Plus graphics.
  • Minor graphics anomalies may be observed in Battlefield V* (DX12), Rage 2* (Vulkan), Star Wars Battlefront 2* (DX12), Control* (DX12).
Compatibility is pretty much the same as we've been seeing for a while now, meaning it supports Windows 10 version 1709 or later, all the way through the May 2020 Update, version 2004. In terms of hardware compatibility, the driver supports all the same processors Для просмотра ссылки Войди или Зарегистрируйся, but this is the first driver to include Intel processors with hybrid technology, otherwise known as the Lakefield processors.

The new driver can be downloaded Для просмотра ссылки Войди или Зарегистрируйся, in either .exe or .zip formats so you can choose your preferred install method. You can also use the Intel Driver & Support Assistant to get the latest drivers whenever they release. The full release notes for this version
