На фоне развернувшейся гонки информационных технологий Япония создаёт Службу по защите информации (I-SDF), этот шаг ведёт к политическому скандалу и обострению отношений между Японией, Китаем и Северной Кореей, которые вскоре выливаются в блокаду последними морских перевозок Японии. В сложившейся ситуации страна вынуждена просить помощи у США, предполагая, что в истоке конфликта лежит кража информации национальной важности! Что это: начало новой мировой войны или... ещё одна работа для сверхсекретной службы «Третий Эшелон» и легендарного Сэма Фишера?
