Samsung Smart TVs now support HDR10+ content from Google Play Movies

Samsung Для просмотра ссылки Войди или Зарегистрируйся the amount of HDR10+ content available on its Smart TVs, thanks to a new partnership with Google. The two companies are bringing HDR10+ content from Google Play Movies to Samsung's Smart TVs in 117 countries around the world.

Google started making Play Movies content available in HDR10+ last month, and the offering includes recent popular movies such as Joker, Wonder Woman, and Crazy Rich Asians. Now, that content is available on Samsung's Smart TVs, and it will expand to other devices in the future, too.

Samsung announced HDR10+ in partnership with Panasonic and 20th Century Fox Для просмотра ссылки Войди или Зарегистрируйся, and it's a new platform for HDR content that uses dynamic metadata, rather than static, so that HDR tone mapping, brightness, contrast, and more can be adjusted for each scene. Static metadata would mean that all of that data would be unchanged while content is playing, possibly resulting in less than optimal settings in certain scenes.

Samsung has been bringing more and more companies into the HDR10+ standard alliance, which already has over 108 members.

In December 2017, Amazon Prime Video began offering HDR10+ on Samsung Smart TVs, and last year, a number of over-the-top TV providers in Europe also joined the fray with 8K HDR10+ content.
