Microsoft is reinventing the entire platform APIs with Project Reunion This is the largest change since WinRT and UWP were introduced with Windows 8 For Win32 API we leverage, this is the largest change since XP This is totally unrelated to their .NET work (I know, sounds odd) Meanwhile, Electron and similar JS solutions for desktop applications are pushing the quality of Windows apps to a new low (alien UX, disk space consumption, memory consumption, slow performance) and spreading rapidly
