КАК УСТАНОВИТЬ JANUS 4.2
На наше с вами счастье программа устроена по МОДУЛЬНОМУ принципу.
Это-первое.
И на наше с вами счастье разработчик ослабил защиту программы, начиная
с четвертой версии-это второе.
Ни один модуль в версии 4.2 не защищен абсолютно ничем.
Патча к версии 4.2 я пока не видел. Но думаю, что он и не нужен.
Никаких дополнительных модулей update 4.2 в программу не устанавливает.
Исправляются лишь ошибки,методом замены старых модулей на новые.
А файл Janus4.exe лишь открывает программу,давая доступ ко всем модулям.
Установите update4.2 и запустите программу для инициации.
Теперь закройте её и замените файл Janus4.exe тем файлом,который был
нам дан tsrh для версии 4.1
Работайте. Вы имеете версию 4.2 (не 4.1,как вам будет писать "JANUS"

Installing Janus 4.2 on Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME & XP
1. Open Windows Explorer (Go Start > Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer).
2. Select the folder you have downloaded the file into.
3. Double click on the file InstallJanus4P2.exe to start the installation.
4. Follow the instructions on your screen.
5. Click Setup to continue, or Cancel to terminate installation.
6. The installation files will self-extract and the Janus 4.2 Setup will automatically start.
7. The next message recommends that you close any running applications/programs, if you have not already done so.
8. Click OK to continue or Exit Setup to terminate installation.
9. Read the License Agreement and click Accept to continue or Disagree to terminate the installation.
10. The next message gives you the option of changing the drive and path to where the program should be installed. The default directory is: c:\Program Files\Janus4.
11. Click the big button to continue.
12. The program Janus4.exe and its associated support files will be copied to your computer's hard drive.
13. The next message will advise you that Setup was completed successfully.
14. Click the OK button.
15. Close Windows Explorer.
16. You now need to install the Janus truetype fonts.
1. From your desktop, go Start, Settings, Control Panel.
2. Double-click the Fonts icon to open the Fonts Window.
3. Select File, Install New Font to open the Add Fonts Window.
4. Select c:\windows\fonts in the Folders list box.
Tip: Scroll down the list of folders in c:\windows and double-click the Fonts folder.
If the Fonts list box does not fill with a list of fonts, close the Add Fonts Window and re-open it.
5. Multi-Select (Shift key + left mouse) JanusAasp, JanusAmix, JanusAsym and JanusAtxt truetype fonts in the list of fonts and click OK.
Windows may display the message that the font is already installed. Just click OK to this message.
6. Close Install New Font and the Fonts Window, and the Control Panel Window.
17. Janus 4.2 is now ready to use.
18. To start Janus 4.2, go Start, Programs and click Janus 4.

5. The User Account window will now appear. Click Continue.
6. Close the Add fonts window.
17. Create the folder - c:\tempast0
1. Under Folders, right-click System (C
, select New > Folder.
2. Change the new folder name to tempast0
3. The last digit "0" is a zero.
18. Set Permissions - c:\tempast0 folder
1. Right-click the tempast0 folder and select properties.
2. Select Security tab.
3. Under Group or user name, select Users (Owner-PC\Users).
4. Click the Edit button.
5. Under Group or user names, select Users (Owner-PC\Users).
6. In the permissions for users selection, click the Allow Full Control check box. Click OK, then OK.
19. c:\Program Files\Janus4 folder
1. Under System (C click the > symbol beside Program Files.
2. Right-click the Janus4 folder and select properties.
3. Select Security tab.
4. Under Group or user name, select Users (Owner-PC\Users).
5. Click the Edit button.
6. Under Group or user names, select Users (Owner-PC\Users).
7. In the permissions for users selection, click the Allow Full Control check box. Click OK, then OK.
8. Close the Folders and Files window.
20. Restart your computer (Go Start > Restart)
Janus 4.2 is now ready to use.

Правой кнопкой мыши по файлу Zet.exe , свойства, совместимость, запустить в режиме совместимости Windows 98/Me и все заработает. первая абсолютно работающая версия....скачал и прикрутил к ней все что можно, в нераспакованом виде получилось 149 Mb, в установленом виде 202 Mb. Единственное не удалось скачать топографическую (рельефную) карту мира на 250 Mb, ссылки на сайте не работают...

У меня почему-то не пошла программа MegaStar Professional Edition v8.00
Значков планет нет, только каракули
MegaStar будет хорошо работать,если поставить НЕ РУССКИЙ Windows.
(Не всегда получается так,как хочется)
