CD Projekt is returning to the Witcher universe, this time through mobile devices. The Polish video game company announced The Witcher: Monster Slayer today, an upcoming iOS and Android mobile venture that will utilize augmented-reality and real-life location-based gameplay to deliver an RPG experience.

Spokko, the mobile gaming studio of CD Projekt that was Для просмотра ссылки Войди или Зарегистрируйся, is in charge of the new project. Although the game will be set in the same Witcher universe as CD Projekt RED's popular trilogy, it is described as a prequel that won't see Geralt of Rivia for "for hundreds more years."

Players will be tracking down, studying, and hunting monsters while utilizing real-world time of day and weather conditions to their benefit. Just like in the original trilogy, players will be able to brew potions and oils, craft bombs, and upgrade their skills to make the task of taking down tougher monsters easier.

Spokko promises story-driven quests that lead players into becoming Witchers, "console-grade visuals," first-person combat inspired by RPGs, as well as a wide variety of monsters both new and old.
