Intel is slated to announce its 11th-gen U-series Tiger Lake processors during its upcoming September 2 event. The firm has promised “something big” for the event, which is most likely the next-generation chips that are based on the 10nm+ process, with the “double digit” gains for the company’s new integrated Xe graphics architecture.

Earlier this month, Для просмотра ссылки Войди или Зарегистрируйся for an HP product suggested that the Core i7-1165G7 – a Tiger Lake-U chip – could come with boost clock speeds of up to 4.8GHz.

Now, more evidence in the form of Geekbench scores have been spotted by Для просмотра ссылки Войди или Зарегистрируйся (Для просмотра ссылки Войди или Зарегистрируйся) that corroborates those figures. The Для просмотра ссылки Войди или Зарегистрируйся, likely the top-of-the-line SKU, clocks a base frequency of 2.99GHz and a boost frequency of 4.79GHz.

What is more interesting is that the Gen12 graphics boasts 96 execution units – up from the 64 units in the Ice Lake-U’s Gen11 based Iris plus graphics – and is clocked at 1.55GHz.

In addition to the Core i7 benchmarks, folks over at TomsHardware also spotted Для просмотра ссылки Войди или Зарегистрируйся for a Core i5-1135G7 running on an Acer Aspire laptop. The processor clocks a base frequency of 2.4GHz and boosts to 4.19GHz.

The Gen12 graphics controller for this model comes with 80 execution units and clocks a maximum frequency of 1.30Ghz.

Both the Core i5 and i7 versions are expected to sport 4 cores and 8 threads.

The Core i7 is expected to house 12MB of L3 cache, whereas the Core i5 will come with 8MB of L3 cache.

These numbers point towards impressive improvements in clock speeds for the Tiger Lake-U processors. Intel’s Ice Lake-U 10th-gen processors were clocked lower than the 10th-gen Comet Lake-U chips, even though the latter was based on the 14nm process. With AMD’s 7nm-based Zen 2 chips making huge strides in performance on laptops, it will be interesting to see how team blue’s offerings stack up against the competition.
