Apple released the first beta of iOS 14.2 to developers a day after iOS 14 made its way to the general public. A version of the beta that is currently in testing includes the ability to add Shazam's Music Recognition feature in the Control Center panel.

To add the music recognition toggle to Control Center, users first need to ensure that they're running the developer beta of iOS 14.2. Then, they need to open the Settings app and click on the Control Center. The toggle will be available underneath the "More Controls" header and can be added wherever deemed appropriate.

Once added, users simply have to tap the control, and Shazam will instantly start to listen to music. Upon recognition, users will be informed of the song name and artist through a pop-up notification. This will allow users to easily find the song on the Apple Music app.

Until now, users were able to identify songs playing around them using Shazam. This deep integration lets them identify music in their apps, which can be handy. For example, if you're wondering what song the creator picked for their YouTube video, the toggle would help you identify that.

It is interesting to note that music identification through headphones has already been available to Android users for some time now, and it's not clear why it took this long for the feature to arrive on iOS.
